Crowned Heads Cigar Company has produced a limited edition size extension in their Headley Grange cigar brand for 2013. The Headley Grande 2013 Limited Edition Drumstick cigar is a 7 ½ x 38 Lancero with a pigtail cap, an appropriate name for this edition since the Headley Grande line was inspired by a beat in a famous Rock song. The Drumstick cigar was rolled at Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. in Santiago, Dominican Republic, under the great cigar maestro Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. The tobacco used is the same as the standard Headley Grande lineup but the Drumstick blend was tweaked to accommodate the size. We are sure these are going to be outstanding, the Headley Grande has received high acclaim from Cigar Aficionado where it was name “Top 25 Cigars of 2011,” scoring a 91 rating. We have been eagerly waiting for these smokes to come in, and now they are finally here. One problem is only 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars were made for this limited edition release, so don’t delay, we’re sure these will sell out fast!

The Tatuaje Cojonu was first released in 2003. The Cojonu (or “Ballsy” as a reference to the strength) is different from most limited releases. The Cojonu is released as a regular edition cigar however every three years Tatuaje release a new Cojonu blend that is named for the release year. Last year Tatuaje released two versions of the cigar, an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapped and a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped version. The other elements of the cigar are the same which really allows the different elements of the wrapper to stand out. The “Book” presentation is different and a very nice feature of the limited (2000 books) release.
